After the Philadelphia Eagles activated veteran defender Brandon Graham off injured reserve heading into the Super Bowl, one question on fans' minds was what that meant for the Eagles' EDGE rotation. Specifically, whether Graham would see any snaps and if Bryce Huff would see the field.

In the hours before the Super Bowl, the fans got their answer. The Eagles listed Bryce Huff as inactive, opening the door for Graham to play a role in the big game. Making Huff a healthy scratch for Super Bowl likely signals the end of his time in Philadelphia.

Eagles News: Bryce Huff's Time in Philadelphia Likely Comes to an End

This is a disastrous end to a disappointing season for the defensive end. Huff was Philadelphia's biggest free agent signing of the offseason, with a three-year, $51.1 million deal in 2024. After a double-digit sack season with the Jets last season, Huff wasn't able to make an impact in Philadelphia and saw his role reduced in the second half of the season and the playoffs.

Huff has been completely marginalized in the postseason, playing a total of 13 defensive snaps in three games, 12 of them coming in the blowout win over the Commanders. Considering that Huff doesn't play any special teams snaps, the 26-year-old getting benched in favor of Graham isn't that surprising.

The Eagles went to a three-man rotation with Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith Jr, and Jalyx Hunt in Graham and Huff's absence. Vic Fangio was able to lead this unit to be the best defense in the league.

The success of that group makes it highly unlikely that Huff will return next season. There is always a market for pass rushers in the league and despite his player-friendly contract, a team should be interested in acquiring Huff. An offseason trade involving Huff is a probable scenario in the offseason.
