Eagles Get Terrible Dallas Goedert Injury News on Wednesday
By Jovan Alford
The Philadelphia Eagles came off the Week 5 bye with a hard-fought four-point win against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. However, that win came at a cost as the Eagles saw a few players exit the game with injuries.
On Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters that star left tackle Jordan Mailata will be out for a couple of weeks. Mailata suffered a hamstring in Sunday’s win over the Browns.
However, he’s not the only Eagles’ offensive player who will be missing some time, which isn’t what the team wants to hear as they just got DeVonta, A.J. Brown, and Lane Johnson back from injury.
Eagles News: Dallas Goedert to Miss a Few Weeks After Suffering Injury in Week 6
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, tight end Dallas Goedert could be out for a few weeks. McLane added that starting cornerback Darius Slay is trending toward being good for Sunday.
Goedert suffered a hamstring injury on the Eagles’ first offensive series against the Browns. The veteran pass catcher did not return to the game, which opened up an opportunity for Grant Calcaterra.
Calcaterra was the Eagles’ second-leading receiver in Week 6, as he had four receptions (four targets) for 67 yards. The 25-year-old tight end will likely be the starter for this weekend’s game against the New York Giants.
We should expect the Eagles to promote veteran C.J. Uzomah from the practice squad, who re-signed with the team last week and will provide more depth at tight end.
