The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders are going to battle in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Last week, the Eagles were able to defend their home turf and beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in the Divisional Round. This group was able to secure the win without rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, who left the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury.

There were concerns that Mitchell was going to miss the contest but those doubts were put to bed. According to Jason Dumas of ABC Philadelphia, the Eagles expect that both Jalen Hurts and Mitchell will play on Sunday.

Eagles News: Quinyon Mitchell Will Play On Sunday

Getting Mitchell out there will be a huge boost for the Eagles and their secondary. The Toledo product was stellar for the Birds. He recorded 46 total tackles and 12 pass deflections. Per PFF, Mitchell had a 73.1 overall grade and a 74 coverage grade. He also had an 87 passer rating allowed in coverage.

In two games against the Commanders this season, he gave up three receptions for 47 yards. The Eagles are going to need Mitchell out there against a potent Commanders offense. In both playoff games thus far, Washington has racked up at least 260 passing yards.

That offense is led by the combination of rookie Jayden Daniels and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

Across the playoffs, Daniels has completed 69% of his passes for 567 yards and four passing touchdowns. In Week 16 against the Eagles, the LSU product threw for 258 passing yards and a career-high five passing touchdowns.

Philadelphia is looking to slow down Daniels and this offense. Having Mitchell out there is a huge advantage for an Eagles secondary that finished the regular season first in the NFL in pass defense (174.2).
