The Philadelphia Eagles' prep for their Wild Card playoff game will take another step on Wednesday, as the team hits the practice field for the first time this week. The biggest focus for this session will be on the health of Philadelphia's starters coming off of Week 18 and going into a do-or-die postseason matchup versus the Green Bay Packers.

Of course, the one fans are desperate for an injury update on is quarterback Jalen Hurts, who's been sidelined with a concussion for the past two games. After getting little info on the QB earlier this week, Wednesday brought some major news on the dual threat.

Jalen Hurts Injury Update is Good News For Eagle vs. Packers

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reported Wednesday morning that Hurts is, in fact, scheduled to practice. McLane notes this is a "notable step forward" for the injured star, who still has some work to do before being cleared from concussion protocol.

This is the best-case scenario for Philly as it begins to lock in for this Packers showdown. The Eagles have already seemingly been bracing for Hurts' return by releasing fourth-stringer Ian Book earlier this week; the fact the team opted to shed some of its quarterback depth instead of adding amid Hurts' situation is a clear sign he's expected to play on Sunday.

Hurts' absence also has surprisingly led to Philadelphia's backup situation improving going into the playoffs. Tanner McKee was sensational with Hurts sidelined, throwing for 323 yards and a whopping four touchdowns in only 45 attempts across two appearances.

McKee's performance should give the Eagles the confidence that this room is in a great place entering the playoffs, and they can survive if Hurts is forced to miss time at any point.

Hopefully Hurts remains problem-free on the health front, though, moving forward and is able to lead the Eagles on another run to the Super Bowl.
