The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans have been celebrating for the last two weeks after their Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles manhandled the Chiefs en route to their second Super Bowl championship. The defensive line played a huge role in the victory, as they sacked Patrick Mahomes six times.
Nolan Smith played well in the contest, logging two QB hits and two pressures. On Friday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo revealed that Smith suffered a torn triceps during the Super Bowl win and played through it.
Garafolo added that Smith had surgery on Wednesday and he's expected to be ready for the start of the season.
#Eagles LB Nolan Smith is Super tough. The young pass rusher suffered a torn triceps during the Super Bowl win over the #Chiefs and played through it, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Nolan Smith Suffered a Torn Triceps in Super Bowl
Smith suffered that injury sometime in the second half but the Georgia product somehow managed to log 30 snaps regardless.
This highlights Smith's toughness and he wasn't going to let anything get in his way of playing in the biggest game of his career.
This was the best season of his young career, as Smith notched 42 total tackles, eight TFLs, and 6.5 sacks in 2024. His production continued in the postseason, as the 24-year-old led the team in sacks (4) and TFLs (4).
The typical timeline for a torn triceps is around 4-6 months, putting him right on track for being back on the field by August at the latest.
Philadelphia could lean on Smith a bit more in 2025, as Josh Sweat is going to hit free agency. We'll have to see if the Birds find a way to retain Sweat but they have multiple key players hitting the open market like Zach Baun and Milton Williams to name a few.
Although Smith was injured, that didn't impact his celebration in the locker room and at the parade.
