The Philadelphia Eagles made some difficult decisions this offseason after the Super Bowl win. They were able to extend Saquon Barkley and Lane Johnson while re-signing Zack Baun. At the same time, multiple players left in free agency, while others are still on the market.

The Eagles released CB James Bradberry with a post-June 1 designation, and he's been sitting on the market looking for his next destination. With the NFL draft in the rearview mirror, teams are looking to fill in the edges with veterans.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Bradberry has been in contact with the Miami Dolphins, although the rumors of a meeting were incorrect. Regardless, Jackson added the Dolphins have expressed interest in multiple veteran cornerbacks, including Rasul Douglas, Asante Samuel Jr., Mike Hilton, Stephon Gilmore, and Shaquill Griffin.

James Bradberry and Miami Dolphins Have Been in Contact

Back in 2022, Bradberry and the Eagles agreed to terms on a three-year, $38 million deal. In his first season with Philadelphia, he was an impactful defender, logging 44 total tackles, 17 pass deflections, and three interceptions. According to PFF, he had a 74.1 overall grade and an 80.2 coverage grade.

Things went off a cliff in 2023, posting a 56.6 overall grade and 54.7 coverage grade on PFF. He looked lost in coverage, and in 2024, he didn't even step on the field. In training camp, Bradberry tore his Achilles and a soleus muscle.

Prior to suffering the injury, Bradberry was open to playing at safety, and that would still be the wise approach to stick on an NFL roster going forward. He doesn't have the same speed, agility, and coverage skills that he used to.

The Dolphins are clearly looking to add a veteran presence to their secondary and Bradberry may end up being the player they choose.
