The Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with possibly their most ridiculous drama of the season this past week, as star quarterback Jalen Hurts has been punished by the NFL for wearing "mismatched" cleats during the team's Week 15 game.

The league office's decision to fine Hurts $40K for wearing some footwear that features an only slightly different shade of green has caused enormous backlash from even opposing fans, who think this is a prime example of the No Fun League cracking down once again.

However, on Sunday, the Eagles' organization even sent a message to Roger Goodell and company before kicking off against the Washington Commanders.

Philadelphia's X/Twitter account posted a picture of Hurts in the same cleats that got him in trouble last weekend with the caption, "Can't stop Jalen 'Two Shoes' Hurts." Eagle-eyed fans would instantly recognize the use of this nickname, as it's what the NFL's own X/Twitter account called the QB in Week 15.

Yet, the NFL's account deleted that tweet when Hurts' fine was revealed, which was another case of the league's hypocrisy on full display. The Eagles using that same wording against the NFL shows the team fully supporting its star and calling out the commissioner's office in the process.

Hopefully the return of these cleats bring Hurts further good luck. He was incredible in Philly's Week 15 over the Pittsburgh Steelers, totaling 290 passing yards and two scores through the air, plus another 45 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Another performance like that should help push Philadelphia's record to 13-2 on Sunday and eliminate the Commanders' division chances.
