The Philadelphia Eagles have entered the second week of training camp, and things have turned up a notch, considering that pads have been thrown on.

While the Eagles are getting ready to defend their Super Bowl title, they've watched as their division rivals made some hilariously embarrassing decisions regarding their star players. According to Jordan Schultz, Washington Commanders All-Pro WR Terry McLaurin has requested a trade on Thursday.

And the news inside the NFC East didn't stop. On Friday, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that the Cowboys and Micah Parsons' relationship has taken a massive turn for the worse. Russini added that Parsons is considering some serious measures that could involve a trade request or even severing ties with the team.

These two guys are far apart on contract talks going into the second week of training camp.

Eagles Fans Have to Be Laughing at the Contract Disputes with Micah Parsons and Terry McLaurin

These contract disputes shouldn't even be a thing for both teams, but here we are as August begins. Let's start with McLaurin. He was drafted in 2019 and has been with the Commanders in his last six seasons. The Ohio State product has gone over 1,000 receiving yards in five straight seasons, including a 1,096 receiving yard and 13 touchdown campaign in 2024 with Jayden Daniels at the helm.

Those numbers helped him land on the second-team All-Pro, and he wants to be paid for it, as he's going into the last year of his three-year, $68 million deal. It's been reported that McLaurin is looking for a deal of $30 million or more, but the Commanders aren't willing to meet that number. And that's a bit wild since McLaurin gave them a consistent weapon while they searched high and low for franchise QB before getting Daniels.

This offseason alone, Garrett Wilson ($32.5 million annually) and DK Metcalf ($33 million) have gotten extensions with no problem.

And the same can be said in the edge rush market. Guys like Danielle Hunter, Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, and T.J. Watt have all inked extensions paying them at least $35 million a year.

Garrett ($40 million) and Watt ($41 million) have now changed the market for edge rushers. That bar has increased, and it has the Cowboys reeling back. And that is dumb but not surprising considering Jerry Jones is still running the show. He loves to drag his feet when it comes to contract negotiations, but this time, it may come back to get him.

Parsons is one of the top three players at his position with ease. He has racked up 52.5 sacks in four seasons with three All-Pro selections.

It's clear as day that both of these guys should have landed new deals, but instead, their respective organizations aren't offering them the money they want, and it has extra drama around both teams.

And Eagles fans have to be loving it.
