The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders are set to square off in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at 3 p.m. EST. After winning two straight playoff games at home, a battle against a division rival is what's in front of them.

Last week, Jalen Hurts and Quinyon Mitchell both suffered some injuries in the Divisional Round but are slated to suit up on Sunday. While the Eagles are preparing, they made a roster move on Tuesday.

Per Jeff McLane, Philadelphia signed TE Cameron Latu to a reserve/future contract and released WR Elijah Cooks from their Practice Squad.

Eagles News: Elijah Cooks Got Released

Cooks joined Philadelphia's practice squad on Jan. 14, leading into the contest against the Los Angeles Rams. He was brought in to play the part of Puka Nucua in practice, according to Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com. Before landing with Philadelphia, Cooks was with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Latu was a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. His rookie season was cut short after he tore his meniscus. He eventually got released by the 49ers and latched onto the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

The Alabama product has yet to play in an NFL game but has some intriguing tools. Over two seasons from 2021-2022, Latu reeled in 56 receptions for 787 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He brings good size to the table at 6-foot-5.

He'll have a shot to land on the roster next year but will have his work in front of him. Philadelphia has Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and E.J. Jenkins on the current roster.

Goedert and Calcaterra are the top two pass-catchers in that room, but Jenkins has also been elevated to the active roster multiple times this season.

Even though the Eagles are seeking their second Super Bowl title, that isn't stopping them from looking down the road to the 2025 season.
