The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for the NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. A third straight postseason win at Lincoln Financial Field will see the Eagles through to the Super Bowl after a one-season hiatus.

To maximize their chances to defeat their NFC East rivals this weekend, the Eagles made a few roster moves. These included signing tight end Nick Muse and offensive lineman Cameron Erving to the practice squad and opening the practice window for specialist Britain Covey. The Eagles also released defensive end KJ Henry from the practice squad to make room for these transactions.

Interestingly enough, Henry was a recent draft pick by the Commanders. After playing a defensive role and starting three games for the Commanders in his rookie season in 2023, he was released after the arrival of head coach Dan Quinn in the 2024 offseason. Henry was then claimed off waivers by the Bengals and spent the first couple of weeks of the season in Cincinnati until the Cowboys signed him off their practice squad.

In Dallas, Henry appeared in two games as a backup before getting released. The Eagles signed him to their practice squad in November, making them the third NFC East team the former fifth-round pick has played for in his young career.

The 25-year-old defensive end will now look to establish his NFL career elsewhere. Considering how most of the teams in the league are always looking for more help in the pass rush, Henry will almost certainly get more chances in the immediate future.
