The Philadelphia Eagles enter the NFL draft with nine total draft picks at their disposal. Howie Roseman and company have work cut out for them when looking for difference-makers to add to the roster. Thankfully, talent can be found in every round, if the proper prep work is done, and the Eagles should consider drafting Georgia TE, Oscar Delp.

Delp is a player who's projected to be selected on Day 3, and the Eagles should give real thought to nabbing him in the fourth round. At first glance, Delp's numbers at Georgia weren't eye-popping, but several draft experts believe that his best days are ahead. Making him a prospect the Eagles would benefit from taking a chance on.

Eagles Should Take a Chance on Georgia TE Oscar Delp in Round 4

In The Athletic's Dane Brugler's draft guide, he wrote, "Delp has an underwhelming college resume, but grading to the flashes shows an NFL player who can impact games as a receiver and blocker. He is a prime candidate to be a better pro than he was a college player."

During his time with the Bulldogs, he was never fully featured as a main option in the passing attack. In 55 games with Georgia, he logged 70 catches for 854 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Yet, he never had more than 25 catches in a season, which is pretty low for the college game.

Nonetheless, when examining his film, you can see he has untapped potential. Delp has a good catch radius with the ability to pluck the ball out of the air. He also has room to add more strength, but once he does, he could really make a difference as a run blocker.

For an Eagles team that only extended Dallas Goedert through the 2026 season, they could certainly use a tight end for the future. Meanwhile, the rest of Philadelphia's tight end room leaves a lot to be desired. Grant Calcaterra, Johnny Mundt, and Stone Smartt are the other options in that room, meaning that Delp could have a fast track to securing a role as a rookie.

It's also worth mentioning that Goedert has missed a game in each of the last seven seasons, so having someone on the team who could step up if needed is huge. Delp has the potential to be a contributor at the next level, and the Eagles are the perfect landing spot to allow him to continue his development.

Adding a player like Delp would be a win for the future of the Eagles roster and should be something they seriously consider if he's on the board in Round 4 when Philadelphia's on the clock at No. 114.
