The Philadelphia Eagles might not have a game this week, but that doesn’t mean the work and preparation stop. The NFC champions are already back at the practice facility getting ready to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Eagles are looking for their payback against the Chiefs who won Super Bowl LVII 38-35 in 2022, which started the potential for a three-peat. On Tuesday, Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters that “a big chunk” of the game plan is ready.

Then on Wednesday, the Eagles announced their first injury report ahead of the Super Bowl, which was an estimation since no one practiced.

However, Zach Berman of PHLY reports that the Eagles will return to practice on Thursday.

The Eagles beat writer adds that the team will also be on the practice field on Friday and Saturday before departing for the Super Bowl on Sunday. Philadelphia is expected to land in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon.

It’s not surprising that the Eagles are getting back to practice during this bye week as once they land in New Orleans, they’ll be busy doing press stuff to start next week. However, they will still have practice time while in the Big Easy.

Many people believe this Eagles team is better than the team that went to Super Bowl LVII a couple of years ago. While that may be the case, the Eagles still need to go out and perform and finish the job.

These next few days of practice in Philadelphia will be good to get things in order, including the game plan.

Once the Eagles leave on Sunday, the next time they’ll be back in the city will be after the Super Bowl. Philly fans hope the Birds will bring back the Lombardi Trophy with them.
