The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up the preseason on Friday night with a 19-17 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

While most of the regular members of the starting lineup on both sides of the ball were held out of the matchup to preserve their health, one former All-Pro was in uniform and capped off a standout showing for Philadelphia throughout the preseason in a big way.

With the offense struggling to find its footing for the majority of the night with rookie quarterback Kyle McCord under center, it was veteran kicker Jake Elliott who put Philadelphia in position to come away with the victory as his night finished off a perfect preseason campaign.

Eagles All-Pro Kicker Jake Elliott Ends Preseason with a Bang

Elliott knocked four field goal attempts through the uprights on Friday night, two of which came from 50+ yards out, bringing his total for the preseason to 6/6 on FG attempts and 5/5 on PAT attempts.

We all know how dangerous the Eagles' offense will be this season. The comfort in knowing that there is a reliable kicker behind that group who is ready to bail them out if the offense sputters on the opponent's side of midfield only makes that group more dangerous when in possession of the ball.

While Eliott did have a subpar showing during the 2024 campaign, he only converted on 77.8% of his attempts, which was the second-lowest number of his career. The performance he put together in the preseason shows that he is locked in and ready to return to an All-Pro level.

If Elliott can do just that, it is going to be very difficult for anyone within the NFC East to keep pace with the Eagles this season. Once they check off a division title on their list of things to accomplish during the 2025 campaign, they will set their sights on their next prize. A second Super Bowl championship in as many years.
