The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys have one of the most heated rivalries in the league. These teams have matched up against each other since 1960, and will continue in Week 1 of the 2025 season.
The Eagles will host Dallas in the season opener and Micah Parsons' brother, Terrance, decided to share a meme of Micah knocking out Jalen Hurts.
Instead of keeping calm after that, Parsons and CeeDee Lamb were seen talking about cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. In a clip that emerged online, Parsons said, "That ‘Quinyonimo Bay’ don’t last over here man. That s*** dead.."
Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa asked whose that was, and Parsons said it was Mitchell. Fans said Lamb was headed there.
The star receiver responded with, "Stop the cap. I ain’t never been locked down.”
When these teams matched up last season in Week 10, Lamb was held to six catches for 21 yards, but we need to take that with a grain of salt since Dak Prescott was gone for the year and didn't play in the game.
Lamb didn't get a chance to line up against Mitchell again in 2024 as he missed some games with a shoulder injury.
So Week 1's showdown will be the first time these guys have a legit shot at squaring off against each other.
Over 16 games as a rookie, Mitchell posted 46 total tackles and 12 pass deflections. He also had an 87.6 passer rating allowed in coverage. Per PFF, he had a 72.4 overall grade (33rd among 222 eligible cornerbacks) and 73.3 coverage grade (32nd among 222 eligible cornerbacks).
He showed the ability to match up with some of the league's best receivers and held his own. That's why he got the nickname 'Quinyonimo Bay’.
Lamb is one of the NFL's elite WRs, notching 6,339 receiving yards, 38 touchdowns, four Pro Bowls, two second-team All-Pros, and one first-team All-Pro nod in his career.
This will be a tall task for Mitchell, certainly, but he's staying quiet and isn't talking about the matchup in public, unlike Dallas stars Lamb and Parsons.
This is just another element that adds more fire to this highly anticipated contest to kick off the 2025 campaign.
