Ever since the Super Bowl ended, speculation about who the Philadelphia Eagles' opponent for opening night of the 2025 season would be has floated around. Earlier this offseason, ESPN's Adam Schefter said he could see the Eagles opening the season against the Chicago Bears with Ben Johnson being their new head coach.
That said, Schefter's prediction didn't end up coming true. On Tuesday morning, Ian Rapoport reported Philadelphia would be taking on the division rival Dallas Cowboys on opening night.
Though Chicago may have been the preferred opponent, Eagles fans have no problem watching the team destroy the Cowboys in Week 1. Be that as it may, that didn't stop Cowboys fans from making embarrassing posts after learning about the Week 1 showdown.
Terrence Parsons Jr, brother of Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a meme of Dak Prescott punching out Jalen Hurts. It's safe to say Parsons' brother is concerned about this matchup given it's a strange post to make that suggests he may be projecting.

Last season, Philadelphia absolutely owned Dallas, beating them by a combined score of 75-13 in two games. However, Prescott did miss both of those games due to injury. When healthy, Prescott and the Cowboys are 5-1 against the Jalen Hurts-led Eagles team.
Given that knowledge, Parsons's meme makes sense. Still, Prescott has never faced a Hurts-led Eagles team as talented as the current squad. While Philadelphia had some turnover on the offensive line this offseason, their skill position players stayed the same, which should continue to give Dallas' defense trouble.
Defensively, the Eagles are less experienced on the defensive line, but beating their secondary will still remain a problem. As a result, 2025 should be the year that Hurts turns his fortunes around against Prescott.
Thankfully, Eagles fans don't have to wait too long to see if that can happen.
