Cowboys Signing Eagles Preseason Bust Just Right After Facing off in Week 10
The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles just squared off in Week 10. Sunday's game was completely dominated by the Eagles, as they secured a 34-6 win over Dallas.
They've won five straight games and have a big-time contest against the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football in Week 11. While the Eagles are prepping for that, the Cowboys added a former Eagle to their practice squad.
NFL News: Dallas Adds Will Grier to Practice Squad
Per Todd Archer of ESPN, the Cowboys signed quarterback Will Grier to their practice squad. Grier was recently on the Eagles practice squad but was released on Nov. 7 by the team.
This won't be Grier's first time with the Cowboys, as he spent 2021-22 with the team. Dallas wanted to bring in a familiar face with Dak Prescott out for the season with a hamstring injury.
Grier didn't get any regular season action with Philadelphia but played in two preseason games with the team this summer. He went 7-of-11 for 51 yards with zero passing touchdowns and two sacks taken.
Philadelphia held the Cowboys to 49 total passing yards in its commanding victory over Dallas. Cooper Rush went 13-of-23 for 45 yards, while, Trey Lance went 4-of-6 for 21 yards and one interception.
Those embarrassing numbers may have forced the Cowboys to look into the quarterback position and found Grier. We'll have to see if Dallas elevates Grier to the 53-man roster, but in the meantime, they have another arm on the roster that may see playing time at some point this season.
