Jason Kelce Takes Next Toward Possible Retirement
By Jovan Alford
Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center and future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce has yet to decide if he’ll retire this offseason or play for one more season.
The Eagles would love to have Kelce play one more season in Midnight Green. However, if the future Hall of Famer decides he’s done playing football, we could see him on our TV screens in the near future.
Eagles Rumors: Jason Kelce Could Join TV Ranks Post-Retirement
Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy reported Friday that Kelce met with ESPN and FOX in Las Vegas this week about a possible TV career. However, McCarthy adds that those talks with ESPN and FOX were viewed as a “preliminary testing of the water.”
Along with ESPN and FOX, Amazon Prime also met with the 36-year-old offensive lineman to discuss the possibility of Kelce joining their ‘Thursday Night Football’ coverage.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to see the various TV networks wanting to speak with Kelce, as he and his brother, Travis, have done a tremendous job with the New Heights Podcast over the last couple of years.
With the success of New Heights and Kelce’s football acumen, the veteran offensive line would be an instant star on whatever network he joined. That being said, it’s still not set in stone that he’s retiring, but having a nice TV job is a great way to potentially kick off post-retirement.
