The Philadelphia Eagles' star wide receiver AJ Brown consistently finds himself embroiled in drama. One of the main reasons for that is how much he enjoys having fun with the media storylines, instigating and sparking rumors.

He did exactly that in his latest social media post. Brown shared a video of him with a signed Julian Edelman jersey on Thursday and knew exactly what he was doing.

AJ Brown Teases the Patriots in Latest Social Media Post

After Philly's Super Bowl victory, there have been reports that the New England Patriots called the Eagles to check Brown's availability in a trade. This call obviously didn't lead anywhere, and the Patriots, who were desperate for a star WR, signed Stefon Diggs in free agency.

Brown, obviously aware of how much Patriots fans wanted him in New England, leaned into these rumors. That is why when he first showed the jersey to the camera, he revealed the front, which had his number 11 on it, and said, "It's finally official, the wait is over". He then proceeded to show the back, which had Edelman's name and signature on it.

Some Patriots fans interpreted this as Brown's desire to join the Patriots in the future. Edelman replied to the star receiver's post, saying that he would be welcome to take his number if he were to join the Patriots.

Unfortunately, Patriots hopefuls will have to wait a bit longer for that to happen. The three-time Pro Bowler signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension in 2024, and the Eagles have no interest in letting him go anytime soon. Brown, who missed games for the first time in his Eagles tenure last season, is hoping to extend his 1,000+ yard streak as Philadelphia chases back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
