A.J. Brown Provides Big Injury Update After Missed Practice on Wednesday
By Cem Yolbulan
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in the NFC divisional round. Even though they are heavily favored, the Eagles will need their full complement of stars to set up a clash against the winner of the Lions-Commanders matchup before the Super Bowl.
There was some concern on that front after Wednesday's practice. While the Eagles rested Saquon Barkley, Jordan Mailata, and Cam Jurgens, who were all seen on the heated bench, A.J. Brown was nowhere to be seen. Brown has been dealing with a knee injury all of last week heading into the Packers game, so another DNP at practice had a chance to be worrisome.
Brown nipped those concerns in the bud on Wednesday evening. Per Eagles insider Zach Berman, the star wide receiver said that this was "all part of the plan," and he will practice on Thursday. Brown added that he felt completely fine after the game on Sunday.
Eagles News: A.J. Brown Feels Fine Despite Missing Practice Ahead of Rams Showdown
Brown was uncharacteristically ineffective against the Packers. He was seen reading a book on the sidelines more often than he was seen making a play on the field. He had his worst game of the season, making a season-low one catch in three targets for 10 yards.
The 27-year-old Pro Bowler said he was also feeling good in the game and was open.
With snowy conditions expected in Philadelphia on Sunday, Brown may have another quiet game. The Eagles will likely end up relying on Saquon Barkley and the running game even more than usual. As long as Brown is feeling good as we enter the most crucial weeks of the postseason, the Eagles will have nothing to worry about offensively.
