Eagles Star Misses Team's 1st Divisional Round Practice
The Philadelphia Eagles are slated to host the Los Angeles Rams in a Divisional Round showdown in the 2025 NFL Playoffs. This contest is going to be an exciting one, as a trip to the NFC Championship Game is on the line.
The Eagles have opened up a 6.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. They'll have their work cut out for them and had practice on Wednesday. During that session, WR A.J. Brown wasn't seen. Philadelphia rested guys like Saquon Barkley, Jordan Mailata, and Cam Jurgens, who were seen sitting on the heated bench.
Eagles News: Multiple Players Didn’t Participate in Wednesday’s Practice
While this may not be a cause for concern just yet, it wasn't the best that Brown wasn't spotted at practice.
Last week, Brown had a DNP designation for Thursday's practice but returned in full capacity on Friday.
In the win over the Green Bay Packers, Brown had one catch (three targets) for 10 yards. His actions on the sideline got more attention than his play on the field. Cameras caught Brown reading a book. He added that he often reads on the sideline but this time, the cameras caught him.
Regardless of that, Brown is the No. 1 option in the passing attack, and the Eagles need to find a way to get him involved in the game. This season, he had 67 catches for 1,079 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
The Eagles offense is a better unit with Brown involved and fully engaged in the flow of the game. We'll need to keep an eye on his injury designations throughout the rest of the week to see if Brown returns to the field.
In Week 12 against the Rams, Brown finished with six catches for 109 yards and one touchdown. Philadelphia will love to have their star WR out there creating big plays on Sunday.
