Following their Super Bowl victory, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was hired to be the New Orleans Saints next head coach. As a result, head coach Nick Sirianni was tasked with hiring a fourth offensive coordinator in four years (five seasons). To fill the position, Sirianni promoted the Eagles passing game coordinator and associate head coach Kevin Patullo to offensive coordinator.

That said, since Patullo was promoted, there haven't been many reactions from the players. That changed on Thursday night when wide receiver A.J. Brown appeared on NFL Network's The Insiders with Ian Rapoport. Brown explained his mindset with Patullo being promoted to Rapoport, saying, "I truly feel like it's a great hire; he already has been involved in almost everything."

" I know we just won, but it has to change. We have to get better, and we have to do things different. But I truly feel like it's a great hire; he already has been involved in almost everything. Him, Kellen (Moore) and Nick (Sirianni) basically called the plays already."

Brown's comments on Patullo becoming the Eagles' next offensive coordinator shouldn't surprise anyone. This past season, the 27-year-old receiver was displeased on multiple occasions with his lack of targets. Brown finished the 2024 season with 67 receptions on 97 targets for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns.

This season was by far Brown's least productive during his three seasons in Philadelphia. While the circumstances didn't call for Brown to have a big season, elite players always felt like the ball should be in their hands more.

Nevertheless, with Patullo taking over, Brown isn't guaranteed to see an uptick in production again in 2025, especially with Saquon Barkley still in the fold. Barkley is expected to still be a big part of Patullo's offense after the season he just had.

Even so, Brown's excitement for the new play caller should excite Eagles fans for 2025 and potentially beyond.
