3. Spencer Turnbull

We wrote about Turnbull being one of three players, who will likely be playing their last game in Philly as the Phillies went into their final home series against the Chicago Cubs in September.

The 31-year-old pitcher gave Philadelphia’s starting rotation a boost to start the season as he replaced a then-injured Taijuan Walker. Turnbull shined in April with a 2-0 record and a 1.67 ERA in six starts.

Turnbull became a fan-favorite and some fans wanted to see him stay in the rotation over Walker. However, the former Detroit Tigers pitcher went to the bullpen, where he struggled with a 7.00 ERA in May.

But to his credit, he bounced back in June with a 2.08 ERA before being placed on the 15-day IL and missing several weeks with a lat strain.

Turnbull did not make any more appearances with the Phillies, leaving his status for 2025 up in the air. Philadelphia could bring Turnbull back on a short deal as their long reliever/bulk guy, or they could go with top prospect Andrew Painter at the 5th spot.
