4. Devin White

This was a very weird and interesting situation in Philadelphia. The Eagles signed linebacker Devin White to a one-year, $4 million deal that included $3.5 million fully guaranteed as a free agent.

Despite the clear need for help at linebacker, White never played a snap for the Eagles this season. He was a healthy scratch a few times and appeared to fall out of favor with the coaching staff. He voiced his displeasure with the coaching staff, which is understandable. From his perspective, you guys signed me to keep me on the bench?

Regardless of what happened behind closed doors, the Eagles decided it wasn't going to work out. They released White back on Oct. 8 and took their loss on the situation. Who knows what really transpired in the facility but it's clear it wasn't going to work out.

5. Jahan Dotson

The Eagles were all-in on adding more difference-makers on offense. That led to them acquiring receiver Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders in August.

Coming into Philly, many people thought Dotson would fit in smoothly and excel in that WR3 role. He has the traits to be a solid playmaker but it has been everything but good things thus far. The Penn State product had the golden opportunity to step up when A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith went down with injuries.

Instead, he was nowhere to be found out there. Despite ranking second among wide receivers in total snaps (200), he only managed five catches (nine targets) for 25 yards in 2024.

Brown, who has only played in Week 1, has 119 yards and a touchdown on the year. The Eagles went into the season with high hopes for Dotson but it's clear that it hasn't worked. It was yet another miss by Howie Roseman.
