3 Eagles Nick Sirianni Needs to Stop Playing Immediately

If the Eagles want to maintain momentum as they chase a Super Bowl, HC Nick Sirianni must stop playing these three struggling players sooner rather than later.

3. Johnny Wilson, WR

Even though sixth-round picks aren't always expected to make an immediate impact, it's hard not to be disappointed with WR Johnny Wilson's rookie campaign.

With Dotson and the rest of the Eagles' depth wideouts struggling, it would've been nice for Wilson to find a way to step up — he does play 31% of offensive snaps, after all. Instead, though, the ex-Florida State pass-catcher has struggled to take advantage of his opportunities, catching just 2-of-9 targets (22.2%) for 14 yards and a touchdown.

Wilson is a solid pass blocker, no doubt, but he's a negative asset in terms of offensive production. His 51.5 offense grade is the seventh-worst afford among 128 eligible receivers, indicating that the Eagles could replace him with just about anyone and there's a decent chance they'd be an improvement over the 23-year-old WR.

It's clear that Wilson was rushed into an NFL role that he wasn't ready for just yet. The 6-foot-6 wideout could end up being an important weapon for QB Jalen Hurts down the line, however, he needs more seasoning before he can reach that level.

Keeping that in mind, Sirianni should take Wilson out of the lineup to work on his development, hopefully, putting him on the path towards a role that he can thrive in next season.
