Stud: AJ Brown

This one was clear early.

AJ Brown got wide open, made a nice grab and picked up plenty of yards after the catch on the Eagles’ first pass play of the game. Then Jalen Hurts went right back to him for his second pass attempt (and second completion) too. And the duo kept on rolling.

Brown disappeared briefly to change his cleats, and moving to less flashy footwear didn’t slow him down at all.

Silencing all the ridiculous claims of a potential beef, Hurts targeted Brown 14 times in the win, which was 37.8% of all his pass attempts. And Brown did what we’re used to seeing, repeating what he did on the first reception all night long.

He got open. He made his catches in stride. And he took off for significant YAC seemingly every time he touched the ball.

All said it was a 9-catch, 131-yard night for Brown. The fact that it felt like a quiet night, not having any massive splashy 60-yard touchdowns, is maybe that much more impressive. How many guys can “quietly” go off for 131 yards?

Welcome to the stud category for the first time in 2023 AJ. I’m sure we’ll be seeing you here a lot more often now.
