1. K’Von Wallace misses the cut

At one time, high hopes surrounded K’Von Wallace in the city of Philadelphia. After being selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft, Wallace was compared to Glover Quinn and even fellow Clemson alumni Brian Dawkins — in terms of playstyle, of course, not that he’d produce on the same level as the hall of fame safety.

In his two seasons with the Eagles, Wallace has made little noise amassing only 36 tackles and one fumble recovery, which came in Week 2 of his rookie season. Wallace has frankly failed to separate himself from the competition in his short career, and now, he may have run out of time in Philadelphia.

The Eagles’ safety position is by far the Achilles heel of this team. While Marcus Epps is projected to be a serviceable starter this season, Anthony Harris will likely fill the other starting safety position out of default. After the starters, Josiah Scott will most certainly make the team due to his position versatility, while free agent acquisition Jaquiski Tartt is likely to remain as he simply is more likely to provide a positive impact.

Even after the four projected to make the 53-man roster, Reed Blankenship appears to be the next man up. The undrafted free agent may even push for Tartt’s roster spot after a very impressive camp/preseason.

After just two years, it seems K’Von Wallace may be on the outside looking come Wednesday.
