The Philadelphia Eagles have wrapped up the preseason after getting demolished by the Dolphins down in Miami. That game impacts nothing as far as the team’s regular season record is concerned; however, it certainly factors into the organization’s decisions regarding the 53-man roster. With the deadline to reach 53 players in sight, the unfortunate reality is that cuts are ahead.

It’s a bittersweet day as many players will find out that they will not play in midnight green this season despite some playing for their NFL lives this preseason. On the other hand, many players will also receive the wonderful news that their careers are intact — for now — and some will even realize their dream of making an NFL team for the first time.

Philadelphia has until 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday, August 30th, to trim their roster down. The Eagles must go from their current 80 players all the way to 53. It will undoubtedly be interesting to see how the team proceeds. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the potential moves.

Here are three predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster.

The unpleasant truth is that, come the deadline, there will be many cuts for the Eagles. Some will be obvious, some will just be temporary as they may rejoin the team at a later point, and some will be controversial to the fanbase.

As is the case every season, fan favorites will fall — which is difficult for any fanbase, let alone one as passionate as the Philadelphia Eagles. Alternatively, there may very well be players who fans would prefer play elsewhere that will remain with the team and — for the moment anyway.
