Philadelphia Phillies target No. 1 | CF Bryan Reynolds

Bryan Reynolds continues to face trade rumors after bursting on the scene last season for the Pirates. The 2021 All-Star continues to be hailed as one of the top outfielders on the trade block, and there is little doubt that many teams will, and already have, come calling.

Pittsburgh’s star center fielder has displayed some solid power this season with 15 home runs and has solidified himself as one of the premier defensive center fielders in all of baseball with a perfect fielding percentage with roughly 80 games played.

Reynolds would be a solid four-tool player both now and going for the Philadelphia Phillies, potentially making a large impact on the team’s chance of a successful season. Adding Reynolds plus the eventual return of Bryce Harper and Jean Segura would help transform the Phillies’ top 10 offense into one of the top five in the entire league.

The sought-after outfielder will not be playing for at least the beginning of this series as he was recently placed on the paternity leave list. It has not been the season many have expected so far from Reynolds, which could lead to the Pirates keeping him through the deadline once again in the hope of moving him either in the offseason or at next season’s deadline.

It’s a luxury the Pirates have certainly, but it is also a dangerous game that they’re playing. While they certainly would not want to sell low on the significantly-desired player, they cannot continuously afford to as Reynolds controllability is a significant part source of value in itself.
