3. Washington Commanders

In 2021, the Washington Commanders’ wide receiving corps was bad… with one notable exception you will read about later.

Whether due to a season-ending injury to presumed starter Ryan Fitzpatrick 16 snaps into his lone start of the season in a Week 1 bout against the Los Angeles Chargers or a big-time commitment to running the ball with star rusher Antonio Gibson, Washington threw more balls to their running backs than the wide receiving corps minus a certain someone in 2021, and that is never a good thing.

Fortunately, the addition of ex-PSU wide receiver Jahan Dotson should help to elevate the now-Commanders’ wide receiving floor and help guarantee that Carson Wentz – or Sam Howell – has multiple viable targets to throw to.

Top Receiver – Terry McLaurin

Now we get to the elephant in the room that elevated Washington over their friends in New York: Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin is an all-around star wide receiver; he’s fast, a good route runner, and a savvy performer who knows how to get himself open. McLaurin was targeted 130 times in 2021, or on 24 percent of the team’s passing attempts, and even with the addition of Dotson, that number should remain the same or even go up this fall.
