Cornerback. Tigers . Andrew Booth Jr.. 40. player. 879.

Surprise! After watching the Philadelphia Eagles make two trades in the first round, why not start off Day 2 with a similar strategy and add a player who very much would have been a good pick at 18 all the way at 40 if he lasts that long?

Now, if you’ve been keeping up with the draft coverage here at Section 215, you’ve surely heard the name Andrew Booth Jr. at least a time or two – like here, and here – and for good reason; he is a really, really good cornerback who can start right away in a scheme like the one Jonathan Gannon wants to run.

Measuring in at 6-foot, 200 pounds, Booth is a fast, long cornerback who has extensive experience pressing at the line of scrimmage. While he didn’t play a ton of man coverage at Clemson due to the Tigers’ schematic preferences, he has the athletic profile to be an immediate Week 1 starter opposite a proven, Pro Bowl-caliber talent like Darius Slay and grow into a bigger role down the line once he gets comfortable playing the game at NFL speed.

If a team like the Seattle Seahawks, who have picks 40 and 41, want to load up on additional assets – or a gently used Jalen Reagor – trading up from 51 could guarantee the Eagles a third high-end starter capable of making plays this fall.
