Philadelphia Eagles: Secondary-focused Day 2 Mock Draft
Friends, may I introduce you to the two newest members of the Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Davis and A.J. Brown.
That’s right, after months of anticipation, multiple pick trades, and some pre-draft excitement over the possibility of trading up – an outcome that ultimately did come to pass – the Eagles have added two premier talents to their roster, even if some will quibble with the players selected versus who was still on the board – I’m looking at you, Kyle Hamilton.
And the best part? We get to do it all over again today and tomorrow, as the Birds from South Philly still have four picks left to play with.
The Philadelphia Eagles can add Day 1 talent in the second and third rounds.
Will Howie Roseman and company finally address their linebacking corps with a young, premier talent like Nakobe Dean? Or how about the cornerback? After going defensive tackle and wide receiver – sort of – in the first round, the defensive secondary is still very much in need of some additional talent who can be both long-term building blocks and immediate contributors. Goodness, will Roseman pull from his old bag of tricks and draft a quarterback or running back like he did in 2020 and 2019, respectively? With every quarterback and running back still on the board minus Kenny Pickett, one of the team’s top prospects could very well fall to the team at 51.
The good news? We are mere hours away from finding out. So, as the hours tick down, why not take another shot at a miniature mock draft and see how the second and third rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft could shake out for the Philadelphia Eagles via PFF’s simulator? While almost no one saw exactly how the first round shook out – I mean, who predicted a trade for A.J. Brown? – the second round has more than enough talent to fill out rosters and make the week a resounding success for fans still stoked off of the Philadelphia 76ers’ commanding win over the Toronto Raptors.
