Alshon Jeffery, WR

Another ex-hero from the team’s iconic Super Bowl winning season, veteran wideout Alshon Jeffery is currently without a job – and for good reason.

Coming off a nasty Lisfranc injury suffered back in 2019, Jeffery was largely immobile when asked to line-up at wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles this past season. The organization oddly pushed for Alshon to receive a significant amount of playing time over the likes of Travis Fulgham once he returned from injury, a rather strange decision considering the potential that Fulgham flashed early on and the sheer lack of athleticism that Alshon was displaying post-injury.

Jeffery finished 2020 with just six receptions for 115 yards – both career lows. It’s not all that hard to figure out why he’s yet to find a new home, especially when you take into account his status as a 31 year old.

It’s also worth highlighting that Alshon was frequently connected to locker room drama during his time in Philly. He was often pinned as the “anonymous source” who was criticizing the team’s quarterback and general manager behind closed doors, which is never something teams like to bring into their own respective locker room.

While it’s possible that Alshon still has something to offer as an experienced veteran who’s had success playing the “X receiver” position, his inability to keep team affairs in-house is likely scaring off any and all potential suitors.
