With NFL training camp just over a month away from officially starting, some recent musings from around the league have given us a few Philadelphia Eagles players to specifically pay attention to.

Some new players to keep an eye on during Philadelphia Eagles training camp:

Jhamon Ausbon, WR

A name that Mike Kaye of NJ.com highlighted, undrafted free agent signing Jhamon Ausbon’s path to a solidified spot within the Philadelphia Eagles organization became a lot clearer this month.

A big-bodied pass-catcher from Texas A&M, the assumption was that Ausbon and fellow UDFA Trevon Grimes were being brought in to compete with the likes of JJ Arcega-Whiteside for a back-of-the-depth-chart spot on the Eagles 53-man roster. JJAW has obviously been a huge disappointment since debuting in 2019, and Grimes in particular was someone who had a track record of being an above average jump ball specialist in college.

However, Grimes suffered an injury just a few weeks into his Eagles career, and was promptly waived. That leaves Ausbon as the only UDFA wide receiver signing still on the roster, which makes his life a whole lot easier in training camp from a competition standpoint.

Kaye does mention that Ausbon is likely to land on the practice squad as opposed to the actual 53-man roster, but an impressive training camp could obviously change that. Ausbon also has a pre-established relationship with the likes of Aaron Morehead, the Philadelphia Eagles current wide receivers coach.
