Created by CBS Sports NFL writer Pete Prisco, the Philadelphia Eagles failed to see any of their players named to this year’s edition of “Top 100 NFL Players.” The likes of Fletcher Cox, Darius Slay, and Anthony Harris all just missed the cut.

As annoying as such an exclusion may be to some, it’s really not all that surprising. The Eagles were woeful in 2020, and really didn’t perform like an organization that actually had a top 100 player on the roster.

However, it’s never too soon to start hunting for redemption. With a completely revamped coaching staff now in town, the hope is that the Eagles will be able to put together a far more competitive season in 2021, one that results in more than one top 100 player emerging.

After failing to receive a single nomination on the 2021 edition, here are 5 Philadelphia Eagles who could crack next year’s “CBS Top 100 Players” list:

Fletcher Cox

The most obvious name to highlight on a list like this, Fletcher Cox is still a talent who the Eagles are looking to get a few more elite years out of. Arguably the best defensive tackle in all of football between the years of 2017 and 2018, Cox’s production has steadily decreased since then due to consistent nagging injuries.

While Cox isn’t getting any younger, he’s also not “ancient” by any sort of standards. Set to turn just 31 years old in December, Cox is someone who should be able to churn out a very productive season alongside the likes of Javon Hargrave, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, and others.

It’s entirely possible that Cox is just on the wrong side of 30, and won’t re-enter these types of top 100 lists moving forward, but there’s an equally high chance of him returning to elite form here in 2021.
