Dallas Goedert, TE

Unless something crazy happens this season, one can only assume that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to extend Dallas Goedert before he even sniffs free agency. They spent a second-round pick on him back in 2018, and have been slowly shuttling Zach Ertz out of the building due to Goedert’s emergence.

Despite never really operating as a true TE1 in the NFL quite yet, most analysts consistently rank Goedert as a top ten tight end due to the traits that he possesses.

However, similar to that of Maddox, Goedert has struggled to stay healthy at times. Starting tight end duties isn’t just about statistical production, you also have to consistently stay on the field so your quarterback has a safety blanket to rely on. This year is just as much about Goedert proving he can put up big numbers in a TE1 role as it is him proving he can stay healthy for 17 games straight.

The tight end position has always been a focal point under Howie Roseman, and I expect that to continue moving forward under Sirianni. Even with the addition of DeVonta Smith this past offseason, there’s a half-decent chance that Goedert is still viewed as the “first option” in the offense.

Goedert having a big year would mean a big contract extension.
