Tre’ McKitty, Georgia

Keeping it in the SEC, Georgia’s Tre’ McKitty is another tight end who has shown some promise as a future pass-catching option.

After three years of playing at Florida State, McKitty was primed for a “breakout season” of sorts during his senior year upon transferring to Georgia. Between COVID-19 and some knee issues that were discovered prior to the season, McKitty didn’t exactly have the marquee year that analysts were initially projecting him to have.

With McKitty’s stock on the lower side heading into this year’s draft, he’s the perfect type of prospect for the Philadelphia Eagles to target with one of their three sixth-round picks. His athleticism is on the higher side, and he’s viewed as someone with extreme pass-catching upside – exactly the type of tight end the Eagles front office should be looking to bring in this offseason.

Assuming Ertz hangs around for at least the first half of the 2021 season, pressure would be relatively low on McKitty, giving him time to learn the offense and restrengthen up that knee. If everything goes to plan in regards to his health and his overall potential, he could blossom into a solid TE2 alongside Goedert by the end of the regular season.
