The Philadelphia Eagles have already made one league-altering trade when it comes to the looming 2021 NFL Draft, and more moves could easily follow.

According to NFL Draft analyst and former Eagles scout Daniel Jeremiah, it shouldn’t be viewed as particularly surprising if Howie Roseman tries to make one or two more trades come draft day. As Jeremiah himself put it during a podcast with NBC Sports’ John Clark, “Howie loves the juice.”

With a decision already made to trade out of the top ten, the more likely move that Howie and the Eagles could pursue is taking their 37th overall pick, and packaging it with further capital to move back up into the first round.

The Eagles could obviously use another first-round caliber rookie this offseason, and having that fifth-year option later down the road is an underrated bonus.

The Philadelphia Eagles could be eyeing a trade back up into the first round.

With that in mind, there are a couple of players that stick out to me when discussing who the Eagles could potentially target in a trade back up into the first round:

Rashod Bateman, WR

If the Philadelphia Eagles opt to go cornerback (or offensive/defensive line) with their 12th overall pick, jumping back up into the first round to grab a new WR1 would make the most amount of sense.

The Eagles obviously have a major need at the WR position, but more specifically they have need at the “X” receiver position. Jalen Reagor is a more natural fit at the Z or in the slot, and both Travis Fulgham and JJ Arcega-Whiteside are big ol’ question marks heading into 2021.

Rashod Bateman – a 6-1, 190lbs receiver from the Big Ten – should tick off all the boxes for Philadelphia. He’s big, fast, an above average route runner, physical at the catch point, and had a healthy amount of college production (1200+ yards in 2019).

Roseman would likely have to jump teams like Baltimore (27) and Green Bay (29), which wouldn’t come particularly cheap. However, landing that certified WR1 for the future is something the Eagles have been trying to do for years now – finally getting one would be priceless.
