With the 2021 NFL Draft now less than two months away, it’s time to once more take a look at what a full seven-round mock draft could end up looking like for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Howie Roseman and the Eagles have a lot of work to do this offseason in terms of just filling out the roster with players, so this year’s selections definitely hold a fairly high level of significance. The team is spiraling towards a rebuild whether they like it not – hitting on this year’s picks is a must.

Into the mock!

The Philadelphia Eagles select…

Ohio State. Justin Justin Fields. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. 6. player

I fully entered this mock draft with the goal of trading back at pick #6, building around second-year QB Jalen Hurts in the process in way of stocking up on future draft compensation. However, the Jets passed on a quarterback at pick #2, and the Falcons took BYU’s Zach Wilson at #4, meaning that Justin Fields was simply sitting there for me to select when I was on the clock.

More from Section 215

Despite what recent reports have said in regards to Jeffrey Lurie and Hurts, I genuinely don’t know if Roseman will be able to pass on someone as skilled as Fields.

A two-year starter at Ohio State who scored a combined total of 78 touchdowns over the last two seasons (compared to just nine interceptions!) Fields presents the Eagles with a second chance at a generational-type franchise quarterback.

They obviously screwed up the Carson Wentz situation pretty bad – Fields at #6 is a shot at redemption.

I’m fully aware that most fans want the team to fully commit to Hurts this offseason, but outside of pure emotional appeal, there’s little to no reason to value him over someone as polished as Fields. If the Ohio State gunslinger is somehow still available when Roseman is on the clock in the first round, he should draft him.
