Kyle Trask, QB

An aggressive run on quarterbacks at the top of the first round could see him taken earlier than initially expected, but ultimately speaking, snagging Kyle Trask in the third round would be pretty solid value for the Eagles. Assuming they don’t draft a quarterback with the sixth overall pick, finding a way to bring in some competition alongside Jalen Hurts is something that is being heavily discussed.

While Roseman could go the route of signing a veteran arm to a cheap one-year deal (like he should’ve done last year), bringing in someone to develop alongside Hurts would be just as sensible.

Trask had a very good senior season at Florida last year, finishing fourth in the Heisman voting. He passed for 4,238 yards, threw 43 touchdowns, ran in an additional three, and only recorded 8 interceptions. While there’s genuine concerns regarding his mobility and overall arm strength – Trask has quite the impressive resume.

Not only would Trask be a valuable backup behind the likes of Hurts for the near future, but he could easily develop into the team’s longterm starter if he continues to play like he did last year for the Gators. Throw in the fact that the Eagles could be drafting his Florida teammate Kyle Pitts in the first round, and the logic to selecting Trask in the third is plentiful.
