With the 2020 NFL season finally completed in its entirety, it is time to shift our full attention towards the NFL Draft. The Philadelphia Eagles have thrusted themselves into an impromptu “rebuild” whether we like it or not, and the draft is the main way they’ll be forced to rebuild their roster.

Howie Roseman and company have definitely struggled drafting in the past, but if they want to successfully navigate this re-tooling period, they’ll have to change that – specifically when it comes to the later rounds.

These prospects could be available in the third round for the Philadelphia Eagles.

More from Section 215

Last year’s third round pick was linebacker Davion Taylor, who barely played this past season. During this year’s Day 2 process, the Eagles need to land a real difference maker.

Israel Mukuamu, CB

A big-bodied cornerback from the University of South Carolina, Israel Mukuamu finally provides the Philadelphia Eagles with a true outside corner to pair alongside Darius Slay.

Jim Schwartz tried to run guys like Avonte Maddox, Jalen Mills, and even UDFA Michael Jacquet at CB2 this past season – all which provided some pretty disastrous results. The Eagles need to select a proper boundary corner during this year’s draft, preferably within the first three rounds.

Standing in at 6-3, 205 lsrael Mukuama gives the Eagles all the size that they could ask for. He spent a majority of his collegiate career playing on the outside for the Gamecocks, but also flashed some versatility as a bigger slot corner/strong safety.

For a team that overall lacks size and versatility in the secondary, Mukuamu would come in and instantly be one of Jonathan Gannon’s go-to weapons.
