As the Philadelphia Colts (I mean Philadelphia Eagles) continue to finalize their new coaching staff, all eyes will now turn towards how this new-look unit plans to attack the looming offseason. Multiple veterans will be on the way out, cap space is non existent, and the team’s draft picks are at a premium.

While a lot of the decisions on draft night will ultimately come down to Howie Roseman and his group of front office employees, the team will undeniably try to select players that Nick Sirianni and company can hopefully build around for the next 5+ seasons.

We’ve spent countless hours debating who the team should take with their first round pick, but now it’s time to glance at a handful of names to keep an eye on in the second round:

Philadelphia Eagles should keep an eye on these 3 second round prospects.

More from Section 215

Dylan Moses, Linebacker

Prior to Jonathan Gannon being hired as the team’s new defensive coordinator, I wasn’t particularly sold on the belief that the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely had to draft a linebacker with one of their first two draft picks.

As much as it was a position of need for the team in 2020, Howie Roseman and company just really haven’t prioritized linebackers in past years. Plus the emergence of someone like Alex Singleton could cause the front office to have a false sense of security at the position this offseason.

However, Gannon is coming from a Colts defense that effectively centered their entire scheme around multi-time All-Pro Darius Leonard. While Gannon was just the defensive backs coach in Indianapolis, he undoubtedly felt the benefits of having an elite linebacker to rely on across the middle of the field. It’s hard to imagine him not expressing a desire for a starting caliber LB to Roseman this spring.

Dylan Moses isn’t a perfect linebacking prospect, but he’s a freak athlete coming from a dominant Alabama defense that’s known for generating above average prospects. His rapid speed and elite athleticism would provide the Eagles with a modern day LB that they’ve desperately needed the last couple of seasons.
