While it may be taking them longer than most teams, the Philadelphia Eagles will in fact hire a new head coach this offseason. With a new head coach comes new schemes and new philosophies, which have a direct impact on the team’s roster.

There are 7 players on the Philadelphia Eagles set to benefit from a new HC.

Whether the team hires an up-and-coming offensive play-caller like Joe Brady, or keeps it in house with someone like Duce Staley, there are a handful of players already on the team that could benefit from a fresh set of eyes in 2021:

Miles Sanders

More from Section 215

After a promising rookie season where he logged 1,327 scrimmage yards, RB Miles Sanders was criminally underused in 2020. He saw just 192 touches, which was actually a decrease from what he saw as a rookie.

A lot of the offensive-minded coaches that the Eagles are being linked to are pass-heavy guys, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’ll likely put an emphasis on better incorporating Sanders into the offense. He’s arguably the team’s best all around weapon, and he proved so during the team’s division-winning run in 2019 – where he recorded 397 total yards over the course of three games.

For whatever reason, Doug Pederson completely abandoned the run this past season. It was a weird dilemma considering the team’s miserable passing offense, and one that ultimately stunted Sanders’ growth.

Whoever the new coach is in 2021, you can almost guarantee that Sanders will see a better third season in the NFL compared to what happened in 2020.
