10 names the Philadelphia Phillies should be checking in on.

Despite the dull pace that the MLB offseason has been creeping along at, Spring Training is genuinely right around the corner. With that in mind, the Philadelphia Phillies roster is still far from being complete. They have a glaring hole at catcher and shortstop, their bullpen still needs help, they could use a reliable fifth starter, and their overall depth is lacking.

Luckily for the Phillies, they’re not the only time that has acted passive this winter. There are still a ton of free agents out there to be signed, and ten in specific stick out to me as players Dave Dombrowski and the Phillies should be checking in on.

The obvious name on this list, the Philadelphia Phillies still need to find a way to get J.T. Realmuto back in town for the foreseeable future. He’s a 2x All-Star, the best overall catcher in baseball, and his relationship with Bryce Harper off the field is irreplaceable.

It felt like the two sides were getting close a few weeks ago, as it was reported that the Phillies did in fact have an offer on the table for Realmuto. However, that report was somewhat debunked by John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, casting further doubt on the situation.

At some point, owner John Middleton is just going to have to man up and fork over the money necessary to land J.T. He’s a key piece to the Phillies organization, and losing him in free agency would be a big time loss.
