Philadelphia Eagles need to let these FAs go.

Following a 4-11-1 finish to the 2020 season, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to undergo some pretty major overhaul this offseason when it comes to their roster. They’ve already restructured deals for Alshon Jeffery and Malik Jackson, signaling their eventual releases, and names like Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz could be on the move in way of a trade.

Outside of guys currently on the roster that are likely set to depart, the Philadelphia Eagles also have a handful of impending free agents that they simply need to wave goodbye to as well.

Howie Roseman and co. have had a problem bringing back familiar players in the past – that can’t happen this offseason.

Taking a look at six free agents that need to find a new home:

Nickell Robey-Coleman

Signed to be a “top-five slot corner” for the Philadelphia Eagles, Nickell Robey-Coleman had a flat out disastrous 2020 season. He allowed a passer rating of 123.0 when targeted, and 77.8% of the passes thrown his way were completions.

NRC was coming off a handful of productive seasons with the LA Rams and was only 28 years old this season, making his swift regression fairly surprising. Many people (the Eagles included) felt NRC would be a massive upgrade to the Eagles cornerback room, and he simply ended up being a liability.

Philly’s DB depth is super weak heading into 2021, but that still doesn’t mean a reunion with NRC should be in the works. He was really, really bad this past season, and he’s only getting older. Just chalk this signing up as an “L” and move on.
