A lot has changed for these teams since the last time they met in Week 8. Quarterback changes, countless injuries, coaches under fire. It’s been an interesting year for both teams to say the least.
However, there is one thing that won’t be different in this game: it will be a big betting game.
The injuries and narratives heading into this game won’t change the fact it should be a big day for bettors. With that, here are the best bets to look for in the Week 16 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. All odds and lines are provided by the FanDuel Sportsbook.
Miles Sanders Over 79.5 Rushing Yards (-112)
It’s starting to feel like a true system play at this point, so we’re going to roll with it for another week.
The Philadelphia Eagles are at their best when they feed the ball to their best player on offense, Miles Sanders. To win on Sunday and keep their playoff hopes alive, they need to do everything they can to get Sanders the ball.
On the season, Sanders averages 73.6 rushing yards per game, good for sixth in the entire league. His average per game doesn’t do him any justice for how his season has been, as he’s been under-utilized the entire year. This started to change once Jalen Hurts was thrown into the lineup. The Eagles have done a better job of getting Sanders involved in the offense and giving him the touches he needs. The last two weeks, Sanders has gone over his rushing yard total, and has shown how special he can be.
This week is the perfect opportunity for Sanders to put on another show. The Dallas Cowboys are currently the worst team against the run this year, giving up 161.8 rushing yards per game. They’ve been gashed all year in the run game, showing no signs of improvement.
If the Philadelphia Eagles want to have a chance to reach the postseason, they’ll do what they should have done all season long and give Miles Sanders the ball. For the bettors out there, you should be all over the over for Sanders’ rushing yards.
