Week 16 keys to success for the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s Dallas Week, and believe it or not, this Week 16 matchup between two of the worst teams in the NFL actually has some fairly large playoff implications in the NFC. The Philadelphia Eagles are still very much in the playoff picture at the moment, and they could genuinely be two wins away from a hosting a home postseason game for the third time in four years.

Whether you think it’s a good idea for the Eagles to win out or not, I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

Beating the Cowboys shouldn’t be that hard of a task if we’re all being honest, but the Eagles have done little to inspire confidence this season. With that in mind, here are a few “X-factors” that the team should look to utilize on Sunday:

Let Miles Sanders cook.

The second-year running back out of Penn State has had a bit of an odd season to say the least, as his usage rate has been nowhere close to what people were expecting it to be heading into the 2020 season. Doug Pederson has routinely shied away from Miles Sanders, instead showing an over-reliance on a broken passing attack.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles simply need to pound the rock.

The Cowboys currently have the worst rush defense in the league, as they’ve allowed 2,256 rushing yards and 5.0 yards per rushing attempt this season. Both lead the league, and there’s little reason to think their defense will be better equipped on Sunday.

20 carries for Sanders feels like a necessity, and another 7-10 for Boston Scott would be nice too. Having Jalen Hurts see 5+ designed QB runs would only make things easier as well.
