Philadelphia 76ers fans are going to love Danny Green.

Danny Green is one of the more interesting players in the NBA.

A three-time NBA champion who has played alongside some of the best players in the game like Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis, Green is the textbook definition of what teams look for in a 3-and-D wing and the kind of player every team wishes they had three of just for a rainy day. Heck, his leadership alone should keep the now-33-year-old forward employed for the foreseeable future, even if his 3 point shot starts falling further and further off from his 40 percent career average.

Did I mention that the Philadelphia 76ers‘ new small forward is also really, really smart and savvy too? Well, he is, as evidenced by his recent appearance on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd‘.

More from Section 215

While chatting it up with FS1’s most noted Philly sports hater – now sporting a strange holiday beard – Green spoke on all thing NBA over his nine-ish minutes on the virtual set, from what it was like to play with LeBron James, to how much leeway star players deserve on a squad, to Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s extension, and what it’s like to join the Sixers. He even touched on his new team’s reported interest in acquiring eight-time All-Star James Harden – because of course he did; literally everyone has an opinion on Houston’s least happy facial hair enthusiast, and they won’t stop talking about them over, and over, and over.

Ever the politician, Green handled Cowherd’s questions with class, dismissing any assertions that the addition of Harden surely has to be a topic discussed at practice and instead suggesting that the team has remained focused on adapting and developing together as a group.

Boy, Green is such a natural talker. Maybe he too should get into the sports media game… oh wait, he is. He has a podcast called ‘Inside the Green Room‘ with Harrison Sanford that is full of these sorts of conversations each week. In a way, I guess Green really is like the second coming of J.J. Redick, only he actually plays defense and isn’t “the N.B.A.’s Most Meticulous Player.”

But don’t just take my word for it; watch the interview yourself below and fully immerse yourself in what the Philadelphia 76ers are in for this offseason.

Wow, nine-plus minutes – 552 seconds, to be exact – and Cowherd didn’t once mention how ‘dumb‘ Philadelphia Eagles fans are. That must have been really hard for him.

dark. Next. Can another team just trade for James Harden already?

So there you go, the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t as obsessed with the idea of acquiring James Harden as their fanbase seems to be. Could he be lying? Most definitely, I imagine every single player in that locker room has had a conversation or two about the most unkillable rumor in sports, but it’s at least telling that the team is trying to remain unified and focused on the task at hand: Winning many, many games in route to a long playoff run. If that happens, I’m sure Colin Cowherd will be ringing Danny Green’s phone until he has to change his number.
