Javon Hargrave

Keeping it on the defensive line, there’s an argument to be made that Javon Hargarve was the Philadelphia Eagles best overall player against the Saints. The man was everywhere, applying tons of pressure to Taysom Hill and proving to be an overall nightmare for a very good Saints offensive line.

After a super slow start to his Eagles career, it looks like Hargrave has finally figured out the best way to operate in Jim Schwartz’ scheme. He had a sack and a TFL against the Packers in Week 13, and then had two sacks, two TFLs, and a fumble recovery against the Saints this past weekend.

Throw in the fact that he had a combined total of four QB hits across those two games, and it’s clear to see that he’s been one of the Eagles better players as of late.

With Cox and Hargrave finding there rhythm at essentially the same time, that spells trouble for opposing offenses. Even with Philly experiencing all sorts of injuries to their secondary, if those two are clicking, it’s going to be really hard for quarterbacks to operate comfortably. With games against Kyler Murray, Alex Smith(?), and Andy Dalton up on the schedule – the Eagles will likely continue to lean on Hargrave’s and Cox’s production.
