Philadelphia Eagles: 5 potential Carson Wentz trade destinations
By David Esser
If the Philadelphia Eagles decide to move off Carson Wentz this offseason, there are five teams who would likely come calling.
The Philadelphia Eagles are in a fairly tricky position when it comes to their quarterback position at the moment, that much is obvious.
They have Jalen Hurts – a second-round pick who just made history in his NFL debut, and then they have Carson Wentz – a former MVP candidate who is owed $100+ million over the next couple of seasons. While it’s likely too soon to declare Hurts the Eagles’ next franchise QB, it’s honestly hard to imagine a scenario where Wentz is able to win over this organization once more.
Wentz had to battle through the Nick Foles nonsense on two separate occasions, and I doubt he has the patience to do it again.

With that in mind, a trade could be in order this offseason, and there are five teams that stick out to me as likely suitors:
Indianapolis Colts
The most obvious team to include on this list, the Indianapolis Colts almost make too much sense.
Their current head coach (Frank Reich) had an unbelievably strong relationship with Wentz when he worked as the Eagles offensive coordinator in 2017, the Colts are going to be in the market for a QB this offseason, and the rest of the team is pretty much set up to “win now.”
While it’s possible that Indy uses their assets to target a trade up for a QB come draft night, it makes way more sense to bring in a proven commodity that Reich can immediately win with.
Whether the Philadelphia Eagles openly shop Wentz or not this summer, I can borderline guarantee that the Colts will call for #11 at least once.
It’s also important to note that the Colts traded away their first-round pick for DeForest Buckner last year, showing a willingness to forfeit assets for proven talent.
