For the first time since 2016, will the Philadelphia Eagles be selecting a player in the top ten of the NFL Draft?

Staring down a matchup with the NFC North leading Green Bay Packers, the Philadelphia Eagles are in danger of falling to 3-8-1 on the season. With games against New Orleans and Arizona up ahead on the schedule, the likelihood that Philly ends the 2020 season with less than six wins is incredibly likely.

While this is obviously not the finish the team was expecting heading into this season, it would give the franchise the unique opportunity to select in the lottery of the 2021 NFL Draft – something they haven’t gotten to do since 2016 (when they drafted Carson Wentz).

While winning the division and cracking the postseason for the fourth year in a row should ultimately still be the goal, here are ten(!) college prospects worth keeping an eye on when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles potentially having a high draft pick this offseason.

Ja’Marr Chase, WR

Being hailed as one of the best college wide receiver prospects of all time, Ja’Marr Chase simply screams “WR1” material.

Chase had an absolutely absurd 2019 season, posting 84 catches, 20 touchdowns, and 1,780 receiving yards. Despite playing alongside Justin Jefferson (who is clearly really good at football), the national consensus was that Chase was the superior talent with a somehow even higher ceiling.

The Philadelphia Eagles tried to address their WR woes last draft, selecting Jalen Reagor with the 21st overall pick. While it’s still unknown in regards to just how good Reagor is/isn’t, passing on a bonafide superstar WR like Chase shouldn’t even cross the Eagles minds.

Wentz has yet to play with a proper WR1 in his career, and Chase would likely solve a majority of the Eagles offensive woes. If he’s on the board, Philly needs to pull that trigger.
